Regional Sales Manager, Eastern United States

Remote position (eastern half of US) with up to 35% travel


Are you passionate about bringing the healthiest organic cheese from the California Redwood Coast to the eastern half of the US? Rumiano Cheese is looking for a dynamic Sales Manager with extensive natural food experience to join our growing company. The Sales Manager will identify and develop strong relationships with new and existing retail customers in the eastern US to drive significant distribution gains. They will build growth plans including innovative product launches, promotions, and customer-specific marketing programs to drive sales, along with managing and motivating a team of brokers to drive profitable growth. The Eastern US Sales Manager will closely collaborate with the Western US Sales Manager, the entire sales team and across the company to achieve organizational goals.  


Key Responsibilities:

·      Manage portfolio of key regional to national accounts (primarily grocery) in the natural and conventional space; identify and qualify new business opportunities

o  Work closely with brokers, distributors, and external partners to develop strategies by account

o  Manage broker team to achieve optimal execution - placement and merchandising results

o  Develop and own strategy for trade promotions and customer spending by account

·      Leverage syndicated data and analytics with customers to enable growth opportunities

·      Collaborate within sales team and across organization to share best practices and ensure alignment on messaging and execution



·      Currently live in the Eastern half of the US (Chicago east) with the ability to travel up to 35%

·      Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field preferred

·      8-10+ years’ sales experience building or growing a natural food brand, preferably organic food

o  Experience managing brokers and working with natural/organic food distributors (i.e. UNFI and KEHe)

o  Genuinely passionate about better for you, consciously raised and produced food

o  Natural or organic dairy experience a plus; American Cheese Society certification a plus

·      Highly skilled at creating and leading customer presentations to deliver business reviews, pursue new distribution & optimize promotional activity

·      Demonstrated ability to thrive in ambiguity, deeply understand business needs, develop a cohesive strategy, and make decisions requiring a high level of judgment

·      Natural collaborator and team builder, willing to jump in to help coworkers as needed

·      Full competence with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook)
