American Cheese Society Cheese Camp 2015 Award Results
Rumiano Cheese takes home 1st and 3rd at this year's ACS Awards
This year's American Cheese Society took place in Providence, Rhode Island. A city with small town feel that is home to the prestigious Brown University, and renowned horror-fiction writer H.P. Lovecraft. New England is a region rich with farmstead and artisan cheesemakers so Rhode Island was a shoe-in for this year’s ACS conference home.
On July 31st , the 2015 American Cheese Society’s Awards Ceremony was held in the beautiful Veterans Memorial Auditorium; bringing together cheese-makers from across America to celebrate and congratulate the winners of almost 1,720 entries in this year’s competition.
We were proud to take home two awards this year with our Organic Unsalted Butter getting a 1st place blue ribbon and our Dry Monterey Jack taking home a 3rd place ribbon. Congratulations to all winners and a special shoutout to the Best of Show winner Celtic Blue Reserve from Glenngary Fine Cheese out of Ontario, Canada!
Most importantly, congratulations to the Rumiano Cheese team. Without every person involved - from labelers to cheesemakers - this wouldn’t have happened.
