2014 California State Fair Cheese Competition Results

Each year the California State Fair holds competitions of all types. Wine and beer, livestock and agriculture, and the most important category, cheese. The event is held about two months before the actual fair. While Cal Expo is prepped for the nearly month long festivities, cheese is shipped from all over California with hopes of winning gold.

We were fortunate enough to have some award winning varieties in this year's contest. 2014's Gold awards include our famous Dry Monterey Jack, and Pepato Dry Jack. The Organic Pepper Jack pulled in our only Silver with it's creamy and spicy kick. The rest of the cheese entered were awarded Bronze: Organic Jack, Organic Smoked Mozzarella, and our conventional Smoked Mozzarella.

We're extremely proud and honored to have been awarded these scores. Here's to another year of great cheese making and competitions!

Is your smoked mozzarella available in retail stores on the Peninsula? Thanks!

      Hi Anne,
Sorry for the delayed response. If you mean the San Francisco Peninsula, yes it is available at Safeway and some Whole Foods.
