Rumiano Dry Jack Wins Gold at World Cheese Awards
Congratulations Rumiano Cheese Team!
The World Cheese Awards (WCA) is held at the BBC Good Food Show in Birmingham, UK annually. It's "the world's largest cheese event at the UK's largest consumer food show," attracting almost 80,000 consumers from around the world. Going strong for over 20 years the WCA is now the largest international cheese competition, with over 2,700 entries from 34 countries and 220 judges from across the globe.
We were invited to send in some cheese to be judged and tasted. The cheese of choice was the classic Dry Monterey Jack. All the 220 judges, in teams of four, deemed the Dry Jack good enough for the Gold in the "Hard Pressed Cheese" group. This is a huge accomplishment for the entire Rumiano Cheese team and we congratulate everyone who had a hand in the making, aging and packaging of this cheese! You can find a list of all the winners at the Fine Food World website.
